This is the APU Science Building Groundbreaking blog site. Is it a good idea to have this blog?

Of course, but what else would I say since I set it up. Will anyone else weigh in on this?

    This is a great idea!

Oh yes…this blog is a great idea. I will be reading it for updates on the Science Building. Can we get plans of the new building up on here?

I hope to set up a more comprehensive site in a few weeks for the actual Science Building. This blog is specifically for the activities and discussions (keynote speakers, Nigel Cameron and J.P. Moreland) that take place on groundbreaking day, i.e., Sept. 26.

    I always encourage a good discussion :)

    Sure, let’s talk!

One thing to include in the upcoming blog about the science building would be the Computer Science department being not only left out of the new science building, but left with very little news as to acquiring any space on campus. If the Computer Science department isn’t to have a place in the building dedicated towards the sciences, where then, should the CS classes be?

Are there any other sciences that have been left out of the new science building? (I honestly don’t know) If so, let’s start up a forum to discuss this too.

Also, is APU building this new science building as a sign of things to come (ie. discontinuing all other sciences not housed within the building).

I think it’s a great idea. It’ll help provide context and insight as my team prepares grant proposals. Thanks for taking the initiative. Do you anticipate students participating?

Jacob, I am unsure what your real issue is. Is it use of the term ‘Science Building’ to describe the project?

  10. JKG Says:

I love the concept of a forum-blog on the science building. I am coming to APU in two weeks as part of the CRIS lecture series. The future of the natural sciences in Christian higher education is (should be) a huge issue. As an earth scientist, my bias is that the broader realm of geological science (earth, oceans, atmosphere) is virtually ignored by Christian institutions. I hope that any forward-looking educational program would take steps to improve the current situation.
